No, they are great for easy dates for people who dont like approaching in person. Personally though I dont see the point in paying what you can do on Myspace for free.

I have used online dating sites in the past because my work is so demanding. It is hard for me to find the time to meet people on my own.

I think some of them are worthwhile, like eHarmony actually analyzes your personality and matches you with compatible people, which weeds out a lot of time-wasters. I’ve never used online dating but I know some very busy professionals who don’t have time to rely on chance meeting to find their soul mate. I think those people are dating with efficiency by using dating sites, and that is a smart thing to do.
